- Malik's car crash was unscripted! Fortunately they were shooting close enough to the script sequence that they could cover for it later on.
- Walter, The Einstein Frog was written as an ape but was changed to a frog because Robbie Little didn't like using a mammal in that capacity. (But he didn't seem to mind having the character be a giant frog with a clear plastic dome over its hideous exposed brain.)
- Toby was originally supposed to sing "That's Amoré" at the Apollo 13 Karaoke Night, but there wasn't enough money in the film's budget to pay for the music rights.
