A number of releases, most of them double-LPs in their original form, had tracks omitted for the CD release. The usual excuse was that the full album wouldn't "fit" on a single disc, but in many cases even the full album would have taken up less than the official 74:33 time limit on a standard Red Book CD. A more likely reason in these cases: the longer the disc, the greater the number of copies that would have to be rejected due to pressing flaws.
